The two new members of the Supervisory Board will bring strategic industrial expertise to AkzoNobel.
The paint manufacturer AkzoNobel
has recently announced that it has nominated Ester Baiget and Hans van Bylen to the Supervisory Board of the company. The appointment will have to be approved by the shareholders during the Annual General Meeting that will take place on 22nd April 2022.
“With Ester and Hans onboard, we look forward to continuing to create long-term value for all our stakeholders. Ester brings a wealth of knowledge in science and sustainability, while Hans brings a deep understanding of the adhesives, sealants and functional coatings industry. We wish the both of them every success in their new roles,” stated Nils Andersen, Chair of the Supervisory Board of AkzoNobel.
Former business president of the industrial solutions at The Dow Chemical Company and later CEO of Novozymes A/S, Baiget has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing, technical, commercial and strategic roles.
Van Bylen, who recently retired at Henkel KgaA, is an experienced CEO who will bring a deep industrial and consumer sector expertise to AkzoNobel, as he was Chair of Ontex Group NV and non-executive member of the board of Lanxess AG. In addition, van Bylen has been President of the German Chemical Industry Association until mid-2020.
