The two new Chinese factories of Hempel will strengthen the production capacity of innovative coating solutions for the marine industry.
The international coatings manufacturer Hempel has recently announced the inauguration of two new factories in Zhangjiagang (China), enhancing the production capacity of innovative coating solutions to better serve the increasing demand of customers from the marine, energy and infrastructure industries.
The new sites were inaugurated with a ceremony presided over by the Jiangsu province government officials, some representatives from the Danish General Consulate in Shanghai as well as customers, suppliers and members of Hempel’s senior management.
The new facilities represent a strategic investment for the company, as there are several newbuild business located in the region and over 50% of Chinese shipyards located in a 200 km radius around Zhangjiagang. With fuel efficiency now highly regarded by global shipowners and charterers, the newly production site will then be able quickly provide silicone-based antifouling coatings such as Hempel Hempaguard
to local manufacturers.
