Axalta’s Klaus-Georg Gast has been elected at the last Annual General Meeting of the German Coatings and Printing Inks Industry Association.
Axalta Coatings Systems has recently announced that Klaus-Georg Gast, the vice-president of its General Industrial Coatings - EMEA division had been elected as a board member of the German Coatings and Printing Inks Industry Association (VdL).
VdL is the largest trade association for the German coatings industry and represents the economic and socio-political interests of both local manufactures and subsidiaries of foreign enterprises. The association includes around 85% of all German coatings, paints and printing inks companies, many of which are medium-sized or family-owned.
“The VdL is arguably the strongest association at a European level and I am very pleased to be part of this important organisation and to be able to play an active role in shaping the future of the coatings industry. Coating manufacturers are facing major challenges, especially when it comes to sustainability and the Green Deal,” has declared Gast. “The key is to identify where the appropriate approaches are and to support developing solutions at an early stage. To this end, I will bring Axalta's brand-leading expertise and my many years of experience to my voluntary work at VdL.”
The election took place on 18th May 2022, during the Annual General Meeting in Baden-Baden (Gemany). Gast has over twenty years of experience within the coatings industry and he has been working at the headquarters of Axalta EMEA, located in Basel (Switzerland), since 2018.
