The upcoming President and CEO of Dürr China Michael Baitinger will bring important contributions to the Chinese coatings market.
The engineering company Dürr has recently announced that Michael Baitinger will be the new CEO and President of its subsidiary in China, starting from January 1st 2024. He will succeed Reiner Schmid, the current leader of Dürr Paintshop Systems Engineering in Shanghai (China), who will retire at the end of the year.
Reiner Schmid started his career with the company in 1990 and then covered several important roles until 2003, when he officially assumed the role of President and CEO in China. As a matter of fact, he made significant improvements to the company by enhancing the production in terms of scale and products range as well as completing important investments. Thanks to his efforts and guidance, Dürr China today generates around $600 million and counts over 1,300 employees.
The next President and CEO Michael Baitinger has a vast experience in the coatings market and a deep knowledge of the several operational areas within Dürr. He started his career as a designer for the conveyor department and then assumed relevant roles, such as layout manager for paint systems and operations director for the plant services at the headquarters of Dürr in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany).
