PPG Invests $44 Million To Increase the Global Production of Powder Coatings

PPG will add production capabilities for bonded metallic powders and improve processing times in five US and Latin American sites.

The international coatings manufacturer PPG has recently announced a $44 million investment that will allow the company to upgrade five production sites in the United States of America, Mexico and Brazil. The project is part of a strategic efforts aimed at increasing the global capabilities for powder coatings in order to expand the offerings and meet the growing customer demand for sustainable products.

The investment is then expected to increase overall capacity, add production capabilities for bonded metallic powders, improve processing times with automated packaging and enhance capabilities to produce small, medium and large batches. It is regarding the facilities in Brazil (Indiana), Gainesville (Texas), Greensboro (North Carolina), San Juan del Rio (Mexico) and Sumaré (Brazil) and it is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2023.
