Yesterday was inaugurated the new I.LAB Chimica, a new interactive laboratory created with the support of PPG, to discover and experiment with the creativity of chemistry.

The manufacturer of paints, coatings and special materials PPG supported the Leonardo da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum in Milan in the opening of a new chemistry laboratory dedicated to STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education. This is an important result that combines the educational expertise of the Museum and the technical-scientific know-how of PPG which helps to bring colour and brightness to the communities.

The laboratory - which will open to the public on Saturday 9 October 2021 - was created with the aim of fostering a new relationship between people and chemistry, thanks to three tools: a space with an innovative design - in which three materials, three colours and three different surface treatments are combined -; informal educational approaches that put people and their experience at the center, and unusual tools such as thermal imaging cameras, microphones, sensors that make chemistry perceptible also through the senses and allow everyone to approach scientific phenomena first-hand.

"We are very proud to be an active part in this STEM project alongside such an important scientific and educational institution as the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci,” said Andrea Giunta, PPG vice president, science and technology, colour. “We hope that this educational resource will bring children closer to the discovery of science, intrigue adults and surprise enthusiasts.”
