Sherwin-Williams showcased products and services promoting compliance, safety and efficiency in biotech facilities.
The Protective & Marine division of the international paints and coatings manufacturer Sherwin-Williams
has recently announced that it participated in INTERPHEX 2024, an annual conference dedicated to engineers, producers, executives and professionals from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries that took place from 16th
to 18th April 2024 at the Javits Centre in New York City (United States of America).
Throughout the conference, the company has discussed current industry trends and technological developments within the sector, besides presenting high-performance coatings and flooring, wall and roofing systems for pharmaceutical and life science facilities. Furthermore, Sherwin-Williams highlighted multiple services – including the delivery of proactive site audits to identify areas of concern prior to regulator inspections – and protective solutions for clean rooms, chemical storage, Food and Drug Administration-approved tank linings and secondary containment around chemical tanks.
The floor and wall systems used in bioscience facility settings are specifically designed by Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine to help prevent contamination of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), bulk biological substances and medical devices, while also offering outstanding chemical resistance, hygienic properties, long-term wear, non-porous surfaces and integral cove bases. The comprehensive suite of high-performing products of the company has then a wide range of applications, including hygienic surface protection in clean rooms, research laboratories, manufacturing plants, packaging and storage and employee welfare areas.
“At INTERPHEX, we showcased how our products can help facilities minimise downtime and maintenance costs, keeping assets and operations running, and address the unique challenges faced by biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities,” has stated Mike Durbin, the market segment manager for pharmaceutical facilities at Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine. “In addition, our team of dedicated experts engaged with attendees to discuss the latest industry trends in resinous flooring and other coating technologies.”
Finally, Sherwin-Williams presented the High-Performance Flooring Visualizer tool, a free web-based software providing features that offer a creative exploration of colour combinations and decorative aggregate sizes for architects, engineers, designers and contractors, allowing an easy exploration of an array of flooring options, from standard designs to personalised blends.
