The new pretreatment solution developed by Sherwin-Williams offers excellent corrosion protection and adhesion for the aerospace industry.
The international paints and coatings supplier Sherwin-Williams, through its Aerospace Coatings division, has recently introduced its new Jet Prep™ Pretreatment - CM0220P01 – which consists of a translucent, chromium-free, water-based sol-gel metal pretreatment solution designed specifically for the aerospace industry. The two-part pretreatment kit provides superior adhesion and corrosion protection on aluminum substrates and pairs with corrosion-protective epoxy primers and aerospace-grade topcoat paint systems.
The Jet Prep pretreatment does not require any special equipment: all it takes is spray, brush or rub the product. In addition, the application is made even easier thanks to a lightly pigmented blue tint, which provides a visual cue, a flat appearance when dry as well as an extended pot life of up to 12 hours. Lastly, Jet Prep offers a cost-effective and less labour-intensive solution compared to traditional coating processes.
