The acrylic monomers production facility of Arkema in Clear Lake received the ISCC PLUS certification.
The specialty materials manufacturer Arkema has recently announced that its acrylic monomers production facility located in Clear Lake (Texas, United States of America) had received the mass-balance ISCC PLUS certification, a significant milestone in the decarbonisation of its global production and supply chain.
These certifications support the progressive introduction of a complete range of bio-attributed resins and additives for high solid, waterborne, UV/LED and polyester powders
technologies, that reduce the emissions of volatile organic compounds and the use of CO2. The site of the company is the fourth plant to receive the certification, after the ones in Taixing (China) and Villers-Saint-Paul and Carling (France).
“We are committed to advancing bio-attributed initiatives through all steps of Arkema’s integration and at a global scale, using a mass balance approach. It is another key milestone towards an industry-wide decarbonisation and circularity efforts that will help our customers and end users reduce greenhouse gas emissions from coatings and adhesives for key markets like new mobility, building efficiency and living comfort, as well as in applications like engineered polymers and water treatment,” has declared Casey Collins, the president for the Americas region of Arkema.
