BYK Shanghai Received the Carbon Footprint Award

BYK Shanghai has received the Carbon Footprint Award for its sustainability and decarbonisation commitments.

The global supplier of speciality chemicals BYK has recently announced that its production site based in Shanghai (China) obtained the Carbon Footprint Award during the sixth edition of the AICM Responsible Care® Award Ceremony in Chongqing for the sustainability and decarbonisation commitments of the company.

The BYK Shanghai hub includes a 2.000 m² solar plant that can provide almost 400 MWh of electricity, representing a 200-ton reduction in carbon emissions per year. Since sustainability is a high priority, the company will continuously reduce energy consumption by purchasing supplementary green power. This will mean a 75% reduction of CO₂ emissions in total.
