To support paint formulators, Evonik introduced a new defoamer and three new dispersing additives as part of its portfolio for interior and exterior paints.
To provide a cost-effective solution that allows easier formulation, the Coating Additives business unit of Evonik has introduced a portfolio of additives for architectural paints.
New defoamer: TEGO® Foamex 9
The latest addition to the portfolio is the newly developed mineral-oil-based defoamer TEGO® Foamex 9, which offers
long-term effectiveness and can be used in
architectural paints and
pigment concetrates. It can be incorporated during the grind or let-down stage and allows customers to choose the technology that is best fitting for their formulations. With this new grade, customers can also replace their currently used mineral oil defoamers more easily.
Three new dispersing additives
Evonik Coating Additives has also introduced three new dispersing additives suitable for inorganic pigments and fillers.
TEGO® Dispers 711 W and 717 W are sodium salt polyacrylates with different molecular weights, and TEGO)® Dispers 712 W is an ammonium salt polyacrylate. All three products offer good dispersibility, viscosity reduction and improved colour acceptance.
In the future, Coating Additives will further expand its additive portfolio for architectural coatings, based on the feedback of the formulators.
