Part of Evonik's product line of silica-based ACEMATT® matting agents, EXP 8018-1 boasts a highly efficient matting effect and has been developed for applications where super-fine surface haptics combined with high transparency are targeted.
Evonik has launched a new wax-treated, precipitated silica matting agent in the portfolio of the Coating Additives business line.
EXP 8018-1 has been developed primarily for applications where superfine surface haptics combined with high transparency are targeted while the main areas of application are high performance water and solvent based coatings for wood and plastic applications. Its polyvalent character allows it to be used in various coating systems and is suitable for both pigmented and clear formulations.
Part of the Evonik product line of ACEMATT® silica-based matting agents, this new, finer-grade, wax-treated EXP 8018-1 was developed also for anti-settling stability in clear coatings and supports high-quality surface aspects.
Among the features of this product we find:
• excellent dispersibility behaviour;
• a very fine cut of the grindometer value;
• easy dispersibility, which allows customers not to need other high shear equipment to incorporate the matting agent into the formulation.
Finally, silica must be mixed with low shear energy at the end of the manufacturing process, which can be achieved with a laboratory stirrer or dissolver. Consequently, you can use this product as a final addition to adjust the gloss level.
