LANXESS ET ECS 2025 INNOVATIONS

With a global network of production sites, LANXESS is dedicated to advancing sustainable chemistry, providing cutting-edge solutions for the paints and coatings industry at European Coatings Show 2025.

Specialty chemicals company LANXESS will showcase its innovative products for the paints, varnishes, and coatings sector at the European Coatings Show 2025 in Nuremberg (Germany).

The company’s extensive portfolio includes coating raw materials, organic and inorganic pigments, biocides, eco-friendly colorants, plasticizers, coalescents, flame retardants, additives, preservatives, and solvents, all designed to offer high-performance, sustainable solutions for modern industrial needs.

LANXESS introduces its "Control – Detect – Prevent" (CDP) concept, a strategic approach to hygiene management in industrial plants. This method is designed to effectively manage microbiological risks, detect potential issues early, and implement preventive measures. At the heart of this concept is Preventol OX, a powerful chlorine-free disinfection and oxidation agent ideal for disinfection of production water, recycled water, and equipment. Preventol OX ensures rapid action, making it versatile for various operational environments while significantly improving cleanliness and operational efficiency.

LANXESS also presents Klarix XIT, a novel non-biocidal additive for paints, coatings, adhesives, and emulsions. It allows for the use of biocidal ingredients like CIT/MIT during production, then removes them entirely or partially after use, resulting in biocide-free or low-biocide end products. Klarix XIT is a flexible, water-soluble, colorless liquid that helps meet growing demand for safer and more environmentally friendly industrial products.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, LANXESS introduces its Scopeblue line of sustainable iron oxide yellow pigments. These pigments, including Bayferrox 3910, 3910 LV, and 3920, are ideal for high-quality formulations and have a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) up to 35% lower than conventional products. Scopeblue pigments meet the industry's increasing demand for lower CO2 emissions and sustainable raw materials.

LANXESS also offers a range of high-quality colorants through its Polymer Additives business unit (PLA), including Levanyl (organic) and Levanox (inorganic) water-based pigment dispersions, ideal for decorative paints, inks, and more. These dispersions are free of binding agents and provide superior color strength and low viscosity.

Additionally, LANXESS provides Mesamoll, a plasticizer for flexible sealants and adhesives, and K-FLEX, a coalescent that enhances key paint and coating properties such as abrasion resistance and gloss. Disflamoll flame retardants offer effective fire protection without affecting the color of the end product.

LANXESS continues its commitment to sustainability with high-quality, carbon-reduced basic chemicals like benzyl alcohol, benzoic acid, and benzaldehyde. These chemicals are essential for the coatings industry, improving viscosity, flexibility, gloss, adhesion, and chemical resistance. LANXESS also offers eco-friendly alternatives, produced using green electricity and biomass, helping customers achieve their sustainability targets.
