The recent collaboration between PPG and the Prague Crafts Academy will allow the next generation of painters to have a complete and exhaustive knowledge of the coatings sector.
The international paints and coatings manufacturer PPG has recently announced a collaboration with the Prague Crafts Academy
(“Akademie řemesel Praha”), a Czech technical high school that offers education in the fields of construction, engineering, electrical engineering and related services. Thanks to PPG, the school could build an innovative and modern workshop for the next generation of painters.
The new facility is the most modern instructional painting workshop in the Czech Republic and aims to help students in developing a wide range of professional skills. PPG has a long-standing relationship with the Prague Crafts Academy, which includes training workshops to showcase students the painting products such as PPG PRIMALEX™, BALAKRYL™ and BONDEX™ as well as field trips to demonstrate how these coatings are produced.
"During these workshops, we provide students not only with theoretical information, but above all with practical experience. We are proud to support quality vocational education and reach out to the younger generation. This latest partnership with the academy will take this to the next level,” has commented Jan Šipan, sales director of Architectural Coatings at Czech PPG.
Approximately 90% of the students successfully complete the painting and varnishing course every year – thus allowing the graduates to immediately take up a position both in Czech Republic or abroad with one of the companies that cooperates with the Academy.
“All crafts are rapidly evolving and it is important to adapt their teaching to changing trends and new technologies. We are pleased that our long-term partnership with PPG has enabled us to open the new painting workshop to support students in painting and varnishing programmes,” has added Drahoslav Matonoha, director of the Prague Crafts Academy.
