Corporate Knights included PPG in the CLEAN200 list of best sustainable paints and coatings producers.
PPG has recently announced that it has been recognised as one of the top manufacturers of sustainable paints and coatings, ranking 74th in the CLEAN200™ global list published by Corporate Knights. The list awards the producers of paints, coatings and specialty materials that obtained the highest percentage of revenues from sustainably advantaged products in 2020.
The company, that was also recognised as one of the most responsible businesses by Newsweek, has reported 35% of sales from sustainable products in the aforementioned time-period. In 2021, PPG has also launched several other environmentally-friendly solutions and expects to reach its goal of 40% by 2025.
“According to Corporate Knights, Clean200 companies are putting sustainability at the heart of their products, services, business models and investments, helping move the world onto a more sustainable trajectory. We are committed to achieving our sustainability goals and enabling our customers to reach their sustainability ambitions through products and processes that reduce emissions, water and energy use, offer wellness benefits, and increase the useful lifetime of their most valuable assets,” stated Diane Kappas, the vice-president for global sustainability at PPG.
For the annual CLEAN200 list, Corporate Knights and As You Sow evaluated 8,480 global companies according to the amount of revenue they earned from products and services that are aligned with the Corporate Knights Clean Economy Taxonomy.
