Airbus and Qatar Airways have reached an agreement over the surface degradation of A350 aircrafts.
Qatar Airways and Airbus have jointly announced that the companies have reached an amicable and mutually agreeable settlement in relation to their legal dispute over the surface degradation and the subsequent grounding of A350 aircrafts.
Qatar Airways declared in 2021 that the surface degradation on the airplanes had led to the grounding of over twenty jets by its domestic aviation regulator. However, Airbus has disputed the claim and has announced its intention to proceed with an independent legal assessment.
The details of the amicable settlement are confidential and both companies will now discontinue their legal claims, as the agreement is not to be intended as an admission of liability for either party. A repair project for the aircrafts is already underway and Airbus and Qatar Airways will resume working together as partners.
