GRI Renewable Industries, a manufacturer of wind turbines, has entrusted GEINSA with the design, construction and assembly of two spray paint booths (40 x 7 x 7 m and 36 x 7 x 7 m) to be installed in its production site of Amarillo (Texas, USA).

The company will design, build and install two spray paint booths for wind turbines equipped with fire-fighting systems, an electrical cabinet with a general synoptic panel, a PLC, and a touch screen, as well as a 6 x 3 m wide painting workshop.

The plant will be 40 m long, 7 m wide and 7 m high and it will perform the following operations: - application of liquid paint in a high pressure environment through the supply of filtered air, with an external exhaust air outlet and a retention system by dry filtration; - drying by convection up to a temperature of 60°C through the recirculation of hot air.

The ventilation equipment has been installed on the roof to optimise the space available. Each booth has an entrance door and an exit door (6 metres wide and 7 metres high) equipped with fire-resistant curtains. They also feature eight doors for staff access, made the same way as the other panels, with 80 mm-thick flame retardant EI90 material.

As for the lighting system, luminous screens are arranged longitudinally on the roof and vertically on the panels. This enables to illuminate the booth uniformly, evenly and completely. For more visibility, LED tubes have also been installed. The electrical cabinet, equipment and system are compliant with UL standards.
