Expoquimia, Eurosurfas and Equiplast have organized the UNPRECEDENTED VIRTUAL FORUM, a virtual event dedicated to cutting-edge initiatives in digitization, circular economy and technology transfer. It will take place from 16 to 20 November on the event-dedicated website.
On the occasion of the 2020 science week, Fira Barcelona's Expoquimia, Eurosurfas and Equiplast expositions have organized the UNPRECEDENTED VIRTUAL FORUM, which will mainly focus on digitization, circular economy and technology transfer.
"Each of these areas will be presented by industry leaders with a concrete vision and focused on the moment in which we are all involved. In times of uncertainty, it is necessary to take a step forward to establish a place for dialogue and agreement, which will help us to emerge strong and together from this situation", says Pilar Navarro, director of UNPRECEDENTED VIRTUAL FORUM.
The director of the event Pilar Navarro also answered the following questions:
How did the idea of organizing this event come about?
"The idea of organizing this virtual event was born together with the committees and sector leaders as we found the need and the opportunity to create a debate on the most relevant topics for the sector. Regarding the circular economy, we will present case studies such as BRASKEM, DOW, etc. Then, regarding the digitization, we will present processes of automation and collaborative robotics, as well as real cases of technology transfer in environmental, energy, food and health projects".
What news and surprises will we find in this virtual week? What topics will be analyzed in detail?
"On the occasion of the celebration of Chemistry Day, many players from the sector will participate at the online event. As mentioned before, success case studies will be presented. Furthermore, we will have world-class speakers like Walter Stahel, Luzia Burns, Felip Vidiella, Xavier Ribera, Larry Logan y Patrica Aymà, among others. They will give us insights into the future of the circular economy and tell us how the chemical and plastics industries can provide sustainability solutions.
As for digitization, great challenges and solutions will be presented by Hisparob, Jordi Pagés, Jesús Bravo, María Benítez with the vision of collaborative robotics. We will also answer several questions with Julián Villalobos, Rosa Paradell and Alicia Richart who will explain how the industrial sectors evaluate the arrival of new technologies.
As for the field of technology transfer, we will have a special day to talk about the dissemination of scientific projects, led by institutions such as CSIC, CDTI and ACCIÓ, which will present action plans for each of the funding and aid programs.
Finally, during the Chemistry Day we will announce the winners of the different awards of the year 2020".
How does an event like this promote the national industry?
"Establishing knowledge, technical, scientific and business relations and trying to promote the economic sector to be the reference sector and the engine of the reactivation of the country. We hope to be a meeting point for the new businesses of the future. A meeting point between science and industry for the economic and social development of the territory".
