Growing filter portfolio for explosion-endangered areas
Protecting people is one of the core objectives of Freudenberg Filtration Technologies innovative solutions. This applies equally to particulate matter and harmful gases in road traffic, in offices and production buildings, or even in preventing explosions. The standard in this area is the ATEX (ATmosphères EXplosibles) product directive of the European Union. Its aim is to protect human life in potentially explosive environments. Freudenberg offers a wide range of certified filter models, to minimize risks and maximize safety in hazardous areas of this kind. This range has been further expanded recently.
The ATEX directive stipulates that all air filters used in potentially explosive environments – whether for ambient room air or in production plants – must have precisely defined electrostatic properties. All Viledon® filters bearing the "Ex" mark, meet these requirements. Their compliance with the conductivity specifications is confirmed by the DEKRA test mark, which applies not just to the filter medium but to the entire filter. Freudenberg Filtration Technologies reliably guarantees this performance by means of comprehensive individual filter testing.
The certified ATEX product range from Viledon® combines the highest safety requirements with proven filtration performance and efficiency. Whether filter mats, pocket or cassette filters, filter cartridges or filter plates, all provide almost the same level of performance as standard Viledon® products. This includes high dust holding capacity with low pressure drop, long service life and maximum operational reliability combined with low operating costs.
One specific example is the ATEX-certified patented edrizzi paint mist separators. Used in paint booths, they are capable of the dry separation of up to 25 kilograms of overspray per filter. In addition to the large range of certified ATEX air filters, Freudenberg Filtration Technologies also offers individual advice on ATEX topics.
