The German machine and plant manufacturer ystral is fortifying its management team. Karl Prem has taken over the function of commercial managing director. Primarily, his appointment has the purpose of relieving the managing director, Peter Manke. Peter Manke will remain responsible for ystral's strategic development, in addition to process and application engineering.
"We are very happy to have Karl Prem for this task", says Peter Manke. "Due to the past years' growth, and in light of the strategic challenges facing us in the future, it was obvious that we had to broaden our base at the top. With Karl Prem, we have found the perfect candidate for this key function in our company." In addition to Peter Manke and Karl Prem, David Manke remains a member of ystral's management board. His primary responsibility is in the field of research and development, as well as international business.
Karl Prem, 49, already joined ystral as the commercial director in March 2018. Prior to this, he worked in a number of leading positions for the dental technician Renfert for more than two decades, which also included the position as commercial managing director. Most recently, the graduate business economist held a similar position at the German knife manufacturer Martor. Karl Prem is married and father of two children, aged 16 and 18. Being an enthusiastic runner, he also organises the weekly run at ystral, where many employees from all departments participate.
Karl Prem has already established himself excellently at ystral and is presently taking on more responsibility. In the future, he will assume responsibility for the commercial management of the ystral Group and for improving efficiency throughout the company. "A company's positive development in the long term also depends on how efficient its internal processes and structures are, so as to maintain cost and time advantages over market competitors," Karl Prem says. Especially in fast-growing companies, processes can quickly become more complex and less transparent. "I believe that regularly adapting and streamlining these processes to be in line with the company's needs is an important management task," Karl Prem continues. "I am very happy that I am allowed to accomplish this task at ystral. I greatly appreciate the trust placed in me." One of Karl Prem's first major tasks is to increase the efficiency of internal processes and to drive continued digitisation in all areas of the company. "We have resolved to inspire our customers, not only with our high technical competence, but also with outstanding service. To achieve this, we need digitised, transparent and customised solutions."
