has recently presented its two new sustainable industrial paint removers EcoClean VpCI-434G and EcoClean VpCI-434L, effective on metal tanks, pipes, spray booths, structural supports, spray equipment, machine tools, workbenches, pipes, railcars, vehicles, airplanes, buildings, floors, stairways, pavements and road surfaces.
In the past, the most common method employed to remove paints and coatings from machine tools, workbenches, pipes, railcars and other surfaces was to use a fast-working chemical stripper containing methylene chloride. However, due to their high toxicity – i.e., their harsh fumes and high Volatile Organic Compounds content – the use of these kinds of strippers was restricted to outdoor or well-ventilated areas.
The industry is then requiring solutions using safer ingredients. Cortec has leveraged its long-term expertise in order to develop environmentally-friendly paint strippers with superior effectiveness: EcoClean VpCI-434G and VpCI-434L are rapidly biodegradable, non-corrosive and low-toxicity paint and graffiti strippers that have been specifically designed for a wide range of industrial applications as well as for efficient gasket removing operations.
The new products designed by Cortec are formulated with environmentally-safe benzyl alcohol to replace toxic methylene chloride, allowing to effectively remove architectural, industrial and lead based paints. EcoClean VpCI-434G is a smooth flowing gel that provides vertical cling to surfaces for the toughest stripping projects, while EcoClean VpCI-434L is a liquid solution with special wetting agents that penetrate deep into the coatings, breaking them down and softening for easy removal of inks, acrylics, 2K and 1K urethanes, alkyds, lacquers, varnishes and adhesives.
