Covestro will present pioneering technologies to enhance productivity and sustainability across industries.
Covestro is set to showcase its latest innovations for the coatings and adhesives industry at the European Coatings Show (ECS) 2025, taking place from 25th to 27th
March in Nuremberg (Germany).
Covestro's showcase will highlight advancements that address the evolving needs of customers, including automated laboratory processes, digital lifecycle analyses, and cutting-edge direct coating solutions for the automotive industry. The company's focus remains on sustainability and circular economy initiatives that drive efficiency while reducing environmental impact.

A key highlight at the event will be Covestro’s new automated laboratory, a game-changer in formulation development. Capable of operating 24/7, the facility is designed to conduct tens of thousands of tests annually, significantly increasing efficiency in coatings and adhesives research. By leveraging machine learning algorithms, the lab processes extensive data sets to refine formulations, setting new benchmarks in precision and speed. Experts from industries such as automotive, printing & packaging, and construction will be on hand to explore collaborative opportunities made possible by this technological leap.
Covestro has also launched a TÜV Rheinland-certified, cloud-based solution for product-specific lifecycle analyses (LCA). This innovative tool enables faster and more accurate calculations of a product’s environmental footprint while identifying ways to reduce CO2 emissions. By integrating this digital solution, Covestro is empowering its customers to achieve their sustainability goals with greater clarity and efficiency.
Covestro is also revolutionising automotive coatings with its innovative Direct Coating technology. This process eliminates the need for separate painting and drying steps by enabling direct coating of plastic components within the injection molding machine. By simplifying production and reducing energy consumption, this breakthrough technology delivers both cost and sustainability benefits. At ECS 2025, Covestro will display products manufactured using this advanced process.
Sustainability remains at the core of Covestro’s strategy, with a strong commitment to circular economy principles. The company actively integrates alternative raw materials, green energy, and recyclable technologies into its product portfolio. To highlight these efforts, Covestro has introduced the CQ label (Circular Intelligence), marking products that contain at least 25% alternative raw materials. Examples of these sustainable solutions, including recyclable food packaging and bio-based polyurethane dispersions for textile printing, will be featured at the event.
