Evonik’s TEGO Cure 100 allows to save costs and energy by curing at room temperature.
Evonik has recently launched TEGO® Cure 100, a new heat stable hardener which ensures coating cures at ambient temperature, allowing to save costs and energy that are usually required when drying in oven. The surface is heat-stable up to 650° C during application.
The new product was specifically developed by Evonik for surfaces that are constantly exposed to high temperatures such as ovens and pipes. TEGO 100 Cure is suitable for both silicone resins and silicone combination resins, it improves the corrosion protection of the coating – especially when it is under an insulating layer – and it has a wide processing window. Moreover, the high solids content of more than 99% reduces solvent emissions to a minimum,
“Our new hardener meets the ever-increasing regulatory requirements. We are convinced that the new hardener will be a future-proof component in our customers' formulations,” stated Maximilian Morin, the head of the Industrial & Transportation Coatings market segment at Evonik.
Evonik’s new silicone resin-based hardener is especially suitable for direct-to-metal coatings, as it allows to avoid costly multi-layer build-ups. In addition to this, its high resistance to corrosion, chemicals and weathering offers a high level of surface protection also to single-layer systems.
TEGO Cure 100 is very easy to handle and can be stored stable over a very long period.
