Evonik’s new ink defoamer is suitable for many applications and guarantees high defoaming power.
The Coating Additives business line of Evonik
has increased its offering, which now counts three siloxane-based defoamer concentrates. By broadening its portfolio with products with specific properties and advantages, the company allows formulators to select the most suitable additive for waterborne paint or overprint varnish according to their specific requirements.
The new solution created by Evonik is TEGO® Foamex 811, that integrates itself with the already existing TEGO Foamex 812 and 852. While TEGO Foamex 812 is especially effective in preventing foam and Foamex 852 is particularly compatible, the newest Foamex 811 offers a combination of these two properties.
“Defoaming power and compatibility are both at a high level. This makes our new defoamer suitable for a very wide range of applications in the printing inks industry,” clarifies Susanne Struck, head of Printing Inks Application Technology.
TEGO Foamex 811 best demonstrates its universal application possibilities when incorporated into the formulation, as it performs equally in the grinding stage as well as in the let-down phase. All three defoamers can be used for food contact packaging, since they do not contain any solvent, biocide or mineral oil, and other various applications such as inkjet inks, tissue, and décor and wallpaper inks.
The three products meet the requirements of the many regulations, such as Swiss Ordinance (List A), FDA, and other regional regulations.
