With this latest innovation, Evonik continues to expand its range of solutions for the coatings industry, reinforcing its commitment to delivering sustainable, high-performance additives.
Evonik Coating Additives has introduced TEGO® Foamex 8420, a cutting-edge siloxane-based defoamer designed to tackle the most demanding foaming challenges in waterborne paints and coatings.
Foaming issues during ink and varnish production can compromise coating transfer and print quality, particularly in formulations containing high levels of foam-stabilising surfactants such as diisooctyl sulfosuccinate (DOSS). Moreover, pigment grinds and raw materials used in many waterborne paints further exacerbate defoaming difficulties. TEGO® Foamex 8420 is engineered to counteract these challenges, delivering superior defoaming performance, long-term effectiveness, and cost-efficient low-dosage application.
“Over the past several years, we've built a robust portfolio of high-performance defoamers for the ink industry,” said Susanne Struck, Global Head of Market Segment Inks at Evonik Coating Additives. “TEGO® Foamex 8420 strengthens our product lineup, offering exceptional compatibility, effectiveness, and compliance with food contact regulations.”
