To limit the spread of COVID 19 and in accordance to the measures issued by the French Government, Global Industrie will not be held as scheduled in the first half of 2020 and are directly postponed to 2021.
Global Industrie in Lyon in 2021
Given the impossibility of predicting how the health and socioeconomic situation will develop, and also in the aftermath of the measures announced by the French President,
GL Events has taken the decision not to organise Global Industrie Paris in 2020.
GL Events has also announced the holding of Global Industrie at Lyon Eurexpo from the 16th to the 19th of March 2021 to enable its exhibitors and its teams to prepare for the next edition of the show as effectively as possible. This edition will be followed by a return to Paris, in accordance with the usual alternation, in March 2022.
Unfailing support from professional organizations
"FIM salutes GL Events' decision to cancel the Global Industrie 2020 exhibition, scheduled to be held next June. The economic situation of companies is such that they cannot calmly envisage participating in an exhibition at a time when the main preoccupation of all manufacturers will be to restart their activity and generate sales. FIM naturally offers its support for the Global Industrie event in Lyon in 2021", stated Philippe CONTET, Director General of the Fédération des Industries Mécaniques
Antoine de FLEURIEU, Executive Officer of GIMELEC said: "GL Events' decision sends out an extremely strong signal which can only reinforce the confidence of visitors and exhibitors, including many GIMELEC members, in the extraordinary tool which the Global Industrie exhibition has rapidly become. GIMELEC and its members are looking forward as of now to the 2021 edition of Global Industrie at Eurexpo Lyon, and our sector has already confirmed its desire to commit itself to this next edition and to make it a success. Our members' 4.0 technologies will then take on a very special meaning echoing the realisation, in France and throughout Europe, of the importance of industrial sovereignty to enable a country to withstand a crisis such as the Covid-19 pandemic."
"Symop fully approves the decision taken by GL events to abandon the organisation of Global Industrie in 2020. In a context as exceptional as the shutdown of activity we are currently experiencing, industry must be given time to reorganise itself progressively. Symop will be there at Global Industrie 2021 in Lyon. More than ever, we will be committed along with our members and will work with GL events to make this edition a particularly powerful event oriented towards renewal of activity and a more sustained vision on the part of France for its industry", declared Olivier DARIO, Executive Officer of SYMOP.
