The company is investing approximately 4.5 million euros in extending the production and administration premises in Steinen. The building application was approved by the Steinen Municipal Building Committee yesterday
H2O GmbH has had its headquarters in Steinen, Baden-Württemberg since 2004. The company, with activities all over the world, is investing approximately 4.5 million euros in the extension, with works due to start in 2018.
H2O GmbH currently has 110 employees worldwide, including subsidiaries in Poland and China. Around 80 employees work in the headquarters in Steinen. Since it was founded in 1999, H2O has grown by 15% on average per year and is therefore constantly seeking experts and managers. The new plant, over a total surface area of 4,900 m², will offer space for 140 employees.
To this end, the administration offices will be completely refurbished and redesigned. The new H2O workspaces will be adapted to the digital working environment of the future and transformed into a new office landscape. The new premises will offer options for working in teams, as well as sufficient individual areas for working without disruption.
The setting up of the extended production hall will take place according to LEAN PRODUCTION principles. In doing so, logistics plays a leading role to make the production processes as efficient as possible.
The extension will set new benchmarks, even with regard to sustainability issues. Apart from the existing groundwater cooling system which helps to save 26,000 kg CO2 every year, a photovoltaic system with a large storage battery will be installed. This should improve the self-sufficiency of the assembly plant with electricity obtained in a sustainable way. In order to support future electric mobility, the bicycle and car parking bays for employees will be equipped with charging stations.
The planning for the H2O extension is being undertaken by the architect's office Baumert, from Binzen.
