The water-based rust converter Ferrozinc is now available in a new 250ml size.
The British manufacturer of high-quality paints and coatings HMG Paints has recently announced that it has relaunched its water-based rust converter Ferrozinc in a new 250ml size, allowing decorators as well as industrial applicators and restoration specialists to easily convert rust in areas where shot blasting is impractical.
Traditionally, rust removal has been a laborious and time-consuming process, involving hours of wire brushing or the use of strong acidic chemicals that pose significant safety hazards. With Ferrozinc, users only need to remove loose debris and poorly adhered surface rust and then degrease the part to eliminate any contamination that may interfere with the chemical reaction before applying a thin coat of Ferrozinc.
Within 30 minutes, the surface transforms into a black/navy colour, indicating the successful rust conversion, and after just 3 hours the treated surface is ready to be overcoated. The water-based formulation developed by HMG Paints not only provides rust conversion properties, but it also ensures a low odour, making it a more pleasant and user-friendly option compared to solvent-based alternatives.
“Ferrozinc has been a popular product for our customers for a number of years and we’re proud to introduce the new 250ml size. It’s such a handy product for users in a number of industries from decorators and industrial applicators to agricultural and classic vehicle restoration,” has commented James Burton from HMG Paints.
