EXPO Ferroviaria, the only rail event in Italy, is coming to Fiera Milano Rho from 3rd to 5th October. The leading players in the rail sector return to a brand-new setting, with ever more international exhibitors.
The choice of Milan by the organisers Mack Brooks makes sense: the capital of Lombardy sits in one of the main rail hubs in Italy, for its high speed, its international dimension and its rail network, the most developed in the country.
Four months before the opening, 250 exhibitors from 16 different countries confirmed their participation at the show. Around 60 new companies will be taking part, including players like Alstom Ferroviaria, Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems Italia and Voith Turbo. Others are rail industry players reaffirming their presence, like Hitachi Rail Italy, Vossloh AG, Faiveley Transport a Wabtec Company and the Japanese JR - East along with many other names representing all sectors of the rail market.
The innovations in this Milanese edition are many, first of all the whole outdoor area of Fiorenza Trenord, the largest manufacturing plant in Italy. This new space will allow businesses to exhibit rolling stock and maintenance equipment: here exhibitors will present new products to sector professionals. One of the many features will be the unveiling of the new Pendolino Italo designed by Alstom for NTV, which will start to operate from December 2017. The ruby red train with its futuristic nose is made with recyclable materials and is equipped with a distributed traction system aimed at increasing efficiency and regeneration of braking energy. In addition, its design in line with criteria guaranteeing reduced CO2 emissions makes it completely environmentally sustainable. The exhibition will be held in Hall 2 of Fiera Milano Rho and will feature two of its major cornerstones: the infrastructure area which, with over 50 companies taking part, underlines the huge significance of this sector within the industry, and the track display area, which will showcase products and equipment.
For this edition of EXPO Ferroviaria the aim is to actively involve visitors: conferences, seminars, technical visits and presentations by exhibitors, along with significant debates and opinions on technology trends, all part of an intensive programme aiming to get the public involved, giving them the opportunity to experience first-hand the latest technology in the sector.
EXPO Ferroviaria is organised by Mack Brooks Exhibitions, a global leader in business event management in various sectors: transport, infrastructure, manufacturing, chemicals. For the rail sector, the company regularly organises successful events including SIFER in Lille, France, and Railtex and Infrarail, both in the UK.
Admission to EXPO Ferroviaria 2017, for professionals only, is free when pre-registering on line.
