The general manager of Cortec® Middle East will help to advance materials performance to protect society, assets and the environment.
The international manufacturer of corrosion protection solutions Cortec® Corporation has recently announced that Khalil Abed, the general manager of the Middle East regional office, has been elected to serve on the AMPP (Association for Materials Protection and Performance) Board of Directors for 2023-2025.
Abed will support and further the mission of AMMP, which aims to advance materials performance to protect society, assets and the environment: “I want to position AMPP as the leading professional platform for materials and corrosion related knowledge, business, software, technology and creative skills.”
The new member of the Board of Directors holds a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering and has accumulated a wealth of first-hand corrosion engineering knowledge in the field, particularly within the oil and gas industry. Since becoming a member of the NACE International organisation (the previous version of AMPP) more than 10 years ago, he has contributed to many technical papers and chaired/co-chaired a variety of technical committees.
“With his solid corrosion engineering and organisational skills, Abed is on track to add an excellent dimension to our global non-profit authority on corrosion control and materials protection,” has stated Amir Eliezer, the Chair of AMPP. “He will also support and strengthen the organisational framework that builds the knowledge base and streamlines its dissemination to society by promoting a modular framework. Finally, he will provide greater consistency among all aspects of AMPP, such as education, standards, publications and exhibitions, using the latest tools and technologies.”
