The international manufacturer of painting robots Lesta has recently announced the launch of the new Lesta SAMPLE MAKER, an innovative system specifically developed to help paint formulators and colour laboratories to perform trials and sampling to test existing coating parameters with new colours and finishes, before using them in industrial production.
Companies operating in the industrial painting and coating sector commonly face the challenge of running precise and high-quality tests, which are essential for evaluating specific parameters on small surfaces – such as samples, panels or prototypes – and ensuring that they meet the required quality standards, once scaled up to full production.
The new Lesta SAMPLE MAKER allows then to first transfer the paint parameters used in production lines to the small surfaces tested and then optimise them, ensuring maximum accuracy. The system is composed by the KR 6 R 900-1 or KR 10 R 1100 high-performance industrial robots, that are ideal for sample painting, and a coating booth equipped with a containment island, suction wall and fan – to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Moreover, the Lesta SAMPLE MAKER includes an automatic cleaning station for spray guns and other system components, the management software to input sample-specific parameters (with the spray path generated automatically) and the Lesta LECROB Robot Controller, which enables the full control of the painting operations, ensuring reliable and precise performance. In addition, the 3X400V power supply reduces the compressed air consumptions. Finally, the system is compatible with ATEX 01 environments and can be customised for various painting processes and industrial applications.
