Nordson has supported the new Innovation Lab for engineering at California State University in San Marcos.
Nordson Corporation attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new Nordson Innovation Lab in the ViaSat Engineering Pavilion, California State University at San Marcos (CSUSM) on March 11, 2022.
The CSUSM campus is close to the Nordson Electronics Solutions factory, where equipment used in electronics manufacturing is designed and built.
Nordson Corporation Foundation pays particular attention to success and social mobility for first-generation college students as well as to a diverse student population. For this reason, Nordson donated $ 100,000 in 2019 to help finance the renovation of an existing building. The opening of the new laboratory was scheduled for March 2020, but due to the pandemic the ceremony has been postponed. From August 2020 to June 2021, the space was used by San Diego County as a COVID-19 test site.
“A big thank you to Nordson Corporation for partnering with California State San Marcos on helping our students achieve success,” said Ellen Neufeldt, CSUSM President. “Building engineering at CSUSM has been, from the start, about creating the very best program possible to help foster a diverse talent pipeline.”
“We look forward to seeing how it benefits engineering students from a wide range of backgrounds,” stated Sara Vaz, community relations manager, Nordson. “And we are pleased to finally celebrate after such a long delay.”
