Supplement of ipcm® - International Paint&Coating Magazine n. 61
The European manufacturing industry is multifaceted: mechanics, fashion accessories, eyewear, hydraulic components, electric motors, furniture accessories... I could mention dozens of different sectors in which Europe stands out above the rest of the world. It excels in product and process quality, research, design, and finishes.
The cleaning of surfaces prior to the application of any aesthetic coating, be it organic or inorganic, is a crucial stage for the quality of such finishes. A coating cannot be applied to a dirty substrate. It will not last, it will not resist, and it will not achieve the required effect. Cleaning a product's surfaces helps maintain its design and construction excellence.
Therefore, it is true that the car industry is in a hard place almost everywhere and that the contingent situation linked to the effects of Coronavirus certainly does not help think positively, as it has sparked global hysteria in an unprecedented way in contemporary history. However, with this ICT issue, we are hoping to convey to our readers all over Europe (and beyond) positivity and, above all, the pride to belong to the dynamic and advanced industry of surface treatments, which concerns 90% of the products we use in our everyday life with its technologies.
This issue is almost entirely composed of success cases and reports about the application of various industrial cleaning technologies. This means that the plants installed and the applications created between 2019 and 2020 are manifold and diversified. They combine different efficient technologies to offer high-quality, low-environmental impact, and automated treatments. Finally, they raise the cleaning quality level even in sectors that were previously less faced with strict cleanliness specifications, such as that of small parts.
