The Eco-Lighthouse certificate awards the sustainability strategy and environmentally friendly procedures of Teknos.
During the last Autumn, the paints and coatings manufacturer Teknos has received the Eco-Lighthouse certification for its premises in Norway. The achievement awards the company’s sustainability strategy and environmentally friendly procedures, that have been just reviewed and updated.
Eco-Lighthouse is the most renowned sustainability certificate for Norwegian buildings. Teknos has received it after a throughout independent environmental analysis conducted by the Eco-Lighthouse Foundation, which revealed that the environmental impact of the waste production, energy consumption and industrial transportation and operations of Teknos successfully met all the requirements.
“The environmental lighthouse certification has been a good and educational process where all employees have been involved. The result of a comprehensive and systematic work has ended up in concrete measures in areas such as purchasing, energy, transport and waste and is a good tool for our further environmental work,” stated the Norwegian team of Teknos. “Submitting an annual climate and environmental report in which the effects of our environmental measures are measured is a must for the certificate. In addition, all Eco-Lighthouse businesses must be recertified every three years, which ensures systematic work and continuous improvement. At Teknos, sustainability is integrated in our strategy, business model and everyday work and we are actively looking for new solutions to make our processes, products and premises more sustainable.”
The Eco-Lighthouse certificate is valid for three years. During the recertification process, the criteria and the climate and environmental reports for the intervening years will be further rechecked by a certifier.
