The 100% bio-based VITA range of Clariant will help customers to reduce carbon footprint.
During ChemExpo India, which took place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre from 18th
to 19th April 2023, Clariant IGL Specialty Chemicals Private Limited (CISC) has showcased its portfolio of renewable-based ethylene oxide derivatives, including the 100% bio-based surfactants from the VITA range that will support customers in the paints and coatings industry to reduce their carbon footprint.
CISC is a joint venture established in July, combining the renewable bio-ethylene oxide derivatives business – that includes a multipurpose production facility with an alkoxylation plant located in Kashipur (India) – and the Chemicals division of Clariant in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
“CISC is thrilled to having participated in ChemExpo India 2023. It has been an excellent opportunity for us to showcase the latest products, technologies and innovations and meet potential customers, suppliers and industry experts from around the world. The Indian Specialty Chemical space has significantly grown in the last few years and is also expected to grow multifield in the near future,” has stated Nitin Sharma, the CEO of Clariant IGL Specialty Chemicals. “We at CISC are excited and geared up to meet the domestic market requirements with our strong local footprint. With our Vita product range, we are offering innovative and sustainable solutions.”
India is expected to emerge as one of the largest markets for specialty chemicals. With its bio-based ethylene oxide derivatives and surfactants, CISC is in a position to cater to a wide variety of market segments ranging from paints and coatings and industrial lubricants to the construction and textile sectors. Its multipurpose production facility has also an on-site R&D facility to support customers with innovative, sustainable and tailor-made solutions.
“Clariant IGL Specialty Chemicals is one of the established players for ethylene oxide derivatives in India and provides products on a renewable basis. By working closely together and leveraging our unique capabilities, we see opportunities for profitable growth, with our customers, based on strong local organic demand as well as the global megatrend for renewable products. Globally, we can benefit from leveraging the “green” ethylene oxide derivatives across other markets, where demand for such renewable ingredients is also on the up,” has also added Us Bhartia, the chairman of Clariant IGL Specialty Chemicals.
