Cortec’s recyclable stretch film provides multi-metal corrosion and ESD protection.
Cortec® Corporation has announced that its laboratories have developed EcoSonic® VpCI® Static Dissipative Stretch Film, a new specialty film specifically intended for electronics, munitions, fertilisers and several other industrial applications where static discharge could result in dangerous packaging conditions.
Pressure and friction during stretch-wrapping applications tend to produce static discharges, that cannot be dissipated by ground. The new film solution developed by Cortec allows to provide multi-metal corrosion protection and to eliminate normal stretch film static, as well as costly barrier packaging. In addition, EcoSonic VpCI Static Dissipative Stretch Film does not interfere with electrical, optical or mechanical surface properties and it is fully recyclable and safe to handle and apply.
EcoSonic meets the static decay requirements MIL-PRF-81705 E and it can be used on standard manual and automatic stretch wrapping equipment, making it ideal for packaging in any application that requires the absence of electrical shock such as computers and telecommunications equipment, laboratory instruments and medical devices that are sensitive to electrical interference.
EcoSonic VpCI Static Dissipative Stretch Film delivers puncture resistance and load holding, allowing users to down-gauge, contain aggressive loads and produce a better package at reduced cost.
