The new low-pressure spray gun EcoGun ACE developed by Dürr allows colour changes in just a few seconds without using solvents.
The German engineering company Dürr and HSM Lackiersysteme have recently launched EcoGun ACE, a new low-pressure spray gun specifically developed to ensure faster and easier colour changing operations: as a matter of fact, the rapid-change system of the colour channel and the quick exchange injector nozzles developed by the partnership between the two companies allow coaters to use again the new technology within seconds after changing colours – without solvents.
The previous feed cup spray guns were equipped with a cup holding the paint that needed to be either flushed and refilled or replaced with a new cup containing the new colour. In addition, all the channels that carried the paint between the cup and the nozzle required a very time-intensive flushing with solvents to prevent paint contamination or commingling. This new spray gun features an innovative system that enables much faster colour changes operations by replacing the entire colour channel and the nozzle quickly and easily, resulting in savings of 90%
compared with conventional low-pressure guns.
EcoGun ACE has also a robust design and spill-proof cup system which are well suited for industrial use, providing a spray pattern that improves the efficiency of the application process. The cup system incorporates both a safety lock and a soiling guard in order to ensure good legibility of the measuring scales at all times.
