The acquisition of ACM AB will allow IMCD N.V. to strengthen its presence in the coatings industry.
The global distributor of speciality chemicals and ingredients IMCD N.V. has recently announced that its subsidiary IMCD Sweden has acquired 100% of the share capital of ACM AB, thus strengthening the minerals and chemicals portfolio of the company destined to the coatings industry.
“With this acquisition, IMCD Sweden expects to expand its activities within industrial applications. This is a significant growth and synergy opportunity for us, as ACM brings extensive knowledge, technical expertise, and strategically important partners. Its business concept is very similar to IMCD’s and we are looking forward to serve our customers and principals with our strengthened organisation,” has commented Sami Valkama, the managing director of IMCD Sweden.
The Swedish company ACM was established in 2007 and now serves the coatings, adhesives, plastics and construction sector. Mostly operating in the Nordic region, it generated a revenue of approximately €13 million last year. The company has six employees that will become part of IMCD personnel.
