Time to relax (and to get ready for September's new beginnings).
As ipcm®'s editor-in-chief Alessia wrote in the latest editor's letter, it is time to relax, to recharge our batteries.
Not only because, this year more than ever, we deserve a break but also because rebooting the brain promotes positive thinking and the creation of good, new ideas.
This is the spirit with which we published the summer issue of ipcm®, which offers several technological, process, management and product ideas that aim at stimulating new ideas and provide a positive framework, clearly showing the European industry's industriousness and dynamism.
Positivity is also the word that is accompanying the definition of the various projects set to take place during the latter part of the year and in 2021.
We are aware that many projects have faded - we had to review several plans ourselves - and that the news is often far from reassuring. However, we firmly believe in the need to start anew. And starting anew does not mean waiting for an opportunity to materialize out of thin air but instead creating new ones, actively looking for them with a responsible and attentive attitude to the current situation but with a proactive approach, as well.
So, although we still cannot go into the details of what's in store, one thing remains certain: our commitment to keep providing the sector with new, cutting-edge platforms that can be exploited to communicate effectively with the industry.
What we can actually say is that the ipcm®_Academy course to become Technologist of Industrial Surface Finishing Processes will start on September 16.
And speaking of training, in July we also held the webinar on cathodic protection and how to protect metal structures from corrosion. Presented by Marco Ormellese, Full Professor in Materials Science and Technology at the Politecnico di Milano, this training session was widely appreciated and we are actively working to schedule new webinars, held as always by field experts, in order to give you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge on various topics related to surface treatments.
Last but not least, as promised in the June in Review, we have published the second episode of Beyond The Pandemic, the ipcm® interview series which aims at offering an unfiltered point of view on how companies have dealt and are still dealing with the situation generated by the Coronavirus pandemic. In the second episode, we have recounted the point of view of an international company such as Sherwin-Williams, which provided very interesting and not-at-all predictable prompts. The next episode will be published at the end of August and will bring you the testimony of a company based in Sweden, a country which, as we all know, adopted a very different strategy compared to most European countries, when it came to deal with the pandemic.
