The technology centre Tekniker will showcase its most recent developments regarding paints, additives and resins at European Coatings Show 2025.

The technology centre Tekniker – part of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA) – has recently announced its participation at the next edition of the European Coatings Show, taking place from 25th to 27th March 2025 at the International Exhibition Centre in Nuremberg (Germany). The society will showcase its most recent developments regarding paints, coatings, inks, additives and resins, as well as demonstrate how they are characterised.

Developing new materials is a fundamental pillar for the further progress of sectors such as the automotive, aeronautics, consumer electronics, infrastructures and health industries. Research and innovation, however, are not only essential to improve their resistance, durability and efficiency, but are also extremely usefull to optimise processes, increase efficiency and reduce environmental impacts.

Visitors will be able to discover the methods used by Tekniker to synthetise an extensive range of additives providing materials with anti-microbial, anti-corrosion and self-repairing properties. As a matter of fact, the society will help attendees to find alternative solutions that are safer and more efficient and profitable when replacing traditional biocides for removing bacteria, fungi and viruses. Finally, the offering of the organisation will also include the know-how associated with improved properties to prevent the adherence of ice.

“Thanks to the sol-gel technology, we can now design coatings that match the desired characteristics. Other salient features, compared to traditional methods, are lower levels of power consumption, lower processing temperatures coupled with a higher degree of homogeneity and uniformity in the resulting chemical composition, yet another cost-reducing feature,” have commented Amaia Martínez Goitandia and Miren Blanco, two researchers from Tekniker.

Tekniker will be in stand 3A – 534.
