Holzenkamp will further develop the growth of BASF’s Coatings division.
BASF has recently announced that it has named Uta Holzenkamp as the new president of its coating division. Holzenkamp took on the new role effectively from 1st
January 2022.
The division’s new president attended several courses surrounding organic chemistry at the University of Münster (Germany), the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh (Scotland) and the Ohio State University (U.S.A.). In addition, she also received a PhD in 1996 from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany).
After completing her studies, Holzenkamp joined BASF in 1997 and started her career in the pharmaceutical research department. Later, she held several positions both in the company headquarters in Germany and abroad. Before assuming this new role, she has been the Senior Vice President of the global Fuel and Lubricant Solutions business unit, which is part of the Performance Chemicals division of BASF.
Her predecessor Dirk Bremm – who headed the Coatings division of BASF since April 2017 – will now serve as the CEO of BASF Automotive Catalysts and Recycling, a separate entity focused on mobile emissions catalysts, automotive catalysts recycling and associated precious metal services. It will be a distinct legal entity structure headquartered in Iselin (New Jersey, U.S.A.).
