Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, is exhibiting its Energy Solutions business at the Coil Winding Expo (CWIEME) in Berlin, Germany, from 10 to 12 May 2016 in Hall 3.2 on Stand A19.

Wire enamels
Axalta's wire enamels are used for primary electrical insulation, covering applications from fine wire for miniaturised electronic components to heavy round and rectangular conductors for large motors, generators or transformers.
Andreas Vendler, Global Product Manager for Axalta's Energy Solutions business, says, "Voltatex 7339A offers a THEIC modified polyesterimide-based magnet wire coating. With a high-solid content of 39% in combination with low viscosity of 800mPas, Voltatex 7339A provides smooth handling on both vertical and horizontal coating machines at a wide range of application speeds."
Impregnating resins
For high voltage applications, Axalta offers excellent alternatives to the common epoxy-anhydride systems, which are suspected of causing health issues. They are one-component unsaturated polyesterimide impregnating resins and key components of modern motors and generators.
Vendler says. "We have a product portfolio that is specifically for use in electrical motor and generator applications in thermal class 180 (H), offering mechanical stability, additional electrical insulation and excellent protection against a wide variety of environmental factors."
Electrical steel coatings
With Voltatex electrical steel coatings, Axalta offers a complete range of high performance varnishes that meet the C3, C5 and C6 insulation classes according to the AISI-ASTM A 976-9 standards.
Nünning says, "On the stand we will no doubt be discussing Axalta's next generation of electric steel coatings, Voltatex 1262, a new formaldehyde-free C6 coating used for the application of large generators, and Voltatex 1250V, a new C5 insulation with excellent slitting, punching and welding properties."
