The Top Employers Institute has certified Covestro China as a top employer for the 6th consecutive year, with the company outperforming benchmarks in well-being, employer branding, digital HR and diversity and inclusion.

The Top Employers Institute programme certifies organisations based on the participation and results of their HR Best Practices Survey, which covers six domains consisting of twenty topics including people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, diversity, equity and inclusion and well-being.

“Securing the title of Top Employer China for six years in a row stands as a remarkable affirmation, underscoring our steadfast commitment to advancing employee well-being, encouraging diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and fostering an enriched workplace. At Covestro, we recognise that our employees are the linchpin of our enduring success in this challenging time. We have been consistently empowering our people through a diverse range of programmes and initiatives, while bolstering the agility and resilience of our organisation to ensure long-term, sustainable growth,” has stated Holly Lei, the president of Covestro China.

Since 2022, Covestro has implemented the Harvard Happiness Course designed to enhance employee happiness through targeted attention and exercises across five dimensions: spirit, body, mindset, relationship and emotion. The establishment of the ‘Happiness Club’ in 2023 has seen increased participation, indicating a growing interest in the pursuit of happiness through learning and experience. In addition, within the company operate around thirty employee independent well-being clubs regarding sports and entertainment.

“At Covestro, we align employee aspirations with the objectives of the company for joint success, prioritising people in the continuous strengthening of our development framework and concept. We care deeply about employee well-being and strive to improve the happiness and engagement. Through a variety of initiatives, including the implementation of digital tools and programmes, we actively elevate the employee experience and facilitate effective organisational decision-making,” has added Lesley Lin, the head of Human Resources for Covestro in China.
