DIC Corporation, of which Sun Chemical is part, made a donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to help provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by the current crisis in Ukraine.
The DIC Group is supporting humanitarian efforts for Ukraine by donating to the UNHCR to assist the agency’s refugee relief efforts in Ukraine and elsewhere in Europe. Specifically, the company made a contribution to Japan for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency’s national fund-raising partner in Japan, which works to mobilize local assistance for the UNHCR’s efforts.
The Group will also make a donation through a joint fund to be set up with its subsidiary Sun Chemical Corporation. This will be forwarded through DIC Group companies in Europe and will be used to provide direct assistance and relief, including housing, medical care and food, to those who have fled Ukraine to nearby countries such as Poland.
The total amount to be donated by the Company is expected to be approximately US$300,000.
The DIC Group sincerely hopes its donations will help ensure the provision of essential support for people caught up in this conflict, and it will continue to back related humanitarian efforts going forward. The Group also prays that a ceasefire is reached swiftly, and that peace and security are restored to Ukraine and its people as soon as possible.
