AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings will showcase its innovative basecoat and clearcoat, with a vibrant design inspired by Catalan art, at MRO Europe in Barcelona.
The international paints and coatings supplier AkzoNobel, through its Aerospace Coatings Division, has infused the spirit of Catalonia into its presence at MRO
Europe in Barcelona (Spain), resenting an aircraft panel inspired by the region’s iconic ceramic designs – a creation led by the Technical Consultant, Dave Kingsman.
This design is brought to life through AkzoNobel’s basecoat and clearcoat. Indeed, using a template provided by the aerospace marketing communications team, Dave spent over 30 hours perfecting the panel. He blended 13 specially formulated colours and applied 36 individual painting steps: from priming and sanding, to layering solid shades and special effects, the result is a dazzling artwork that captures the vibrant spirit of the region.
“It was a team effort, from the original marketing concept to the final design. We wanted something that showcased what you can achieve with our paints and do so in a way that celebrated the color and life of the Catalan region. We hope visitors to MRO Europe stop by and take a look,” has stated Dave Kingsman.
