Christopher M. Fowler Award for International Cooperation of AMPP

The new award recognises exceptional leadership in materials protection and performance globally.

The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), the global authority in materials protection and performance, has recently introduced the Christopher M. Fowler Award for International Cooperation to its prestigious awards program.

This award honours the legacy of Christopher Fowler, a past president of NACE International (now AMPP) and a dedicated member since 1989. Christopher Fowler held several key roles within the European Region of NACE, including International Director for the European Region on the NACE Board of Directors. His significant contributions to the field encompassed participation in numerous symposia, leadership in various technical committees, and serving as the European Coordinator and UK Executor for the IMPACT (International Measures of Prevention, Application, and Economics of Corrosion Technologies) study, which examined corrosion costs and preventative strategies on a multinational scale.

"We’ve made our nomination process as simple as possible, ensuring that it’s easy for all our members to participate. Our goal is to receive a diverse range of submissions that truly reflect the international spirit of cooperation that this award celebrates,” states Tim Fest, CAE, AMPP’s director of global membership experience.

The Christopher M. Fowler Award for International Cooperation recognises an AMPP member whose exceptional service and leadership have significantly contributed to the global promotion of the organization's activities and goals. This award highlights efforts in political and business engagement, organizing international conferences, initiating new chapters, and fostering successful collaborations with like-minded organizations worldwide.

To be eligible for the Christopher M. Fowler Award, an individual must be an active AMPP member and have made significant contributions to enhancing the organization’s visibility and activities internationally. Contributions may include organizing new courses, training sessions, or learning opportunities that align with AMPP’s mission. Self-nominations and posthumous nominations are not accepted. Additionally, current members of the AMPP Boards or Awards Committee are ineligible.
