Atotech announced that it has inaugurated the new site in Querétaro to significantly expand its production capacity in Mexico and the Americas.
Atotech announced that it has celebrated the inauguration of its new production site in Querétaro, Mexico. The plant, located in the Parque Industrial Aeropuerto (PIA) Colón, has a production capacity of 33 tons/day, allowing the specialty chemicals technology company to expand its production capacity in Mexico and the Americas.
The event was attended by special guests including Mauricio Kuri, Governor of the state of Querétaro, and Marco Antonio Del Prete III, local secretary of industrial development from the estate government of Querétaro. Atotech management team members including Peter Frauenknecht, CFO; Gertjan van der Wal, President of the company's GMF business; and John Kochilla, Vice President of the Americas, introduced the new facility and all workshops offered during the inauguration.
At the new headquarters in Querétaro, Atotech produces general metal finishing products used in various sectors, including automotive, construction, heavy machinery and household appliances. The company produced its first batch of chemicals at the new site in May.
“I am pleased to announce the official opening of our new site in Mexico as it marks an important milestone for our company. The Querétaro site will allow Atotech to significantly expand its production capacity and sustainable growth in Mexico as well as the Americas. It also supports the expected rise in customer demand in the coming years. I’d like to thank everyone involved for their support, dedication, and teamwork to get our new site operational”, said Geoff Wild, CEO at Atotech.
Thanks to its strategic location near the automotive and industrial districts of the Bajío Area (Querétaro, San Luis Potosí and Guanajuato), the new facility will ensure more efficient transport of goods and deliveries.
“Our new site brings many advantages. The location will enable us to accelerate the growth in Mexico as we are located in direct proximity to existing and potential customers. The new facility also includes a state-of-the-art laboratory with high-end technology, processes, and qualified personnel to run analyses to better serve our customers. Furthermore, we are very pleased that our 76 employees are enjoying working at this facility, which was completed with their safety, comfort, and well-being in mind”, added Ramón Bertrán, Managing Director of Atotech Mexico.
