The European daughter company of Cortec® Corporation will focus on VpCI® masterbatch production and new reprocessing equipment for recycling.
EcoCortec®, the European daughter company of Cortec® Corporation, has recently announced the expansion of its production site in Croatia, in order to include a new polymer processing plant
and other green manufacturing technologies.
The company is a manufacturer of
environmentally safe VCI/VpCI® anti-corrosion films and bags and its new facility will be located on a 10,000 m2 geographically strategic site near the Hungarian border at the crossroads of state highways – only 3 km away from trans-European corridor C5 – that can be reached by truck, railway, the river Danube or air.
The investment will allow EcoCortec to
minimise the disposal of potentially useful materials and reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, as well as energy usage. So, the model of circular economy will also reduce air and water pollution. In addition, the company has recently purchased a new blown film extrusion line for manufacturing patented biodegradable ESD films aimed at the growing electric vehicles market.
Expected to open by November 2022, the new facility will be divided in two different buildings with their own warehouse of raw materials and finished goods.
- The compounding and masterbatch production facility will employ a state of the art, high performance compounding extruder designed for processing biopolymers on world scale.
- The Regranulation facility will include a recycling line which will set new standards in recycling of materials that are difficult to process, such as heavily printed films and very moist material.
EcoCortec® will then be able to offer to its customers
complete converting, extruding and printing capabilities.
