The FGIA updated its AAMA 611-24 specification for tests and requirements for coatings on extrusions and panels for architecture.
The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has recently announced that it has updated its AAMA 611-24 specification describing the test procedures and the requirements for high-quality aluminium oxide coatings applied to extrusions and panels for architectural products.
Last updated in 2020, the AAMA 611-24 Specification for Anodized Architectural Aluminum has been modified the Anodized Specification Task Group under the direction of the AMC Finishes Committee. The changes made include testing information for a corrosion resistance procedure. The document is now available for purchase in the FGIA online store at the discounted member rate of $20 or the non-member price of $60.
“This guideline will permit the architects, owners and contractors to specify and obtain anodised aluminium finishes which will provide, with periodic maintenance, a superior level of performance in terms of film integrity, exterior weatherability and general appearance for many years,” has stated Rich Rinka, the technical manager for fenestration standards and U.S. industry affairs of FGIA.
