The 15th
edition - organized for the first time in digital mode - of the A&T fair, the event dedicated to 4.0 innovation, technologies and skills, which saw the assignment of the fifth edition of the 4.0 Innovation Award, has ended.
There is a direct line that connects the results of the research performed by the Digital Innovation Observatory in SMEs of the Politecnico di Milano presented at the opening of the A&T 2021 Fair
and the fifth edition of the 4.0 Innovation Award awarded on the occasion of the 15th edition of the event dedicated to 4.0 innovation, technologies and skills: both companies that have won the award have been able to transform research into competitiveness and success.
Among the 51 projects selected, the Industrial Scientific Committee of A&T awarded, ex aequo, Bonfiglioli Riduttori and Rollwasch Italiana S.p.a.
The first company presented the IoTwins project, which exploits big data
by digitally reproducing a system (infrastructure, process, machine, etc.) together with its performance, creating Digital Twins that allow modelling the system and its dynamics, the prediction of its evolution and optimization of its operation, management and maintenance.
The second winning company presented VibroBLAST, a patent for a revolutionary vibro-sandblasting technology, which combines the kinetic potential of sandblasting with special elastic abrasive supports that three-dimensionally accompany the parts to be finished.
In addition to the Innovation 4.0 Award which reproduces the logo of the A&T event made with AM technology, the winners were given a voucher worth 2,000 euros each, which will give them the right to access the training courses of the Learning Hub or the CIM4.0 Academy.
“The 4.0 Innovation Award confirms how Italian creativity and technological ingenuity are fundamental strategic levers to enhance and raise awareness and benefits of digitization within our companies and at the same time strengthen competitiveness on global markets. All the projects presented showed great technological potential, as A&T Industrial Scientific Committee we found ourselves in great difficulty in identifying a short list and a winner. In fact, in the end we opted for an ex aequo. There is only one way to follow: networking and promoting the culture of digitization towards Italian manufacturing, also through events such as the A&T Fair, a plus of professional skills and abilities that have always distinguished us on foreign markets,” stated Alberto Baban, President of the Industrial Scientific Committee of A&T.
The 2021 edition of A&T took place completely digitally and recorded over 4,000 unique accesses over the three days, 150 exhibitors present in virtual stands, over 150 speakers involved in events, conferences, round tables and workshops.
“We are proud to have succeeded in a difficult undertaking, that of confirming a complex event in a difficult era by courageously choosing the path of digitization. It was not easy but, together with our exhibitors, visitors and all the players who followed and supported us in the previous months, we have shown that innovation and technology are essential elements, functional to update established habits and to show new opportunities. The future of fairs, certainly ours, will be the hybrid mode, where language and online accessibility will be an integral part of the program for the next edition, scheduled for February 2022”, said Luciano Malgaroli, Founder and CEO of the A&T Fair.
